Has It Been "One Of Those Days"?

Has it been "one of those days" when everything that could go wrong - went wrong? Mine began this morning when I turned on the coffee pot, however neglected to place the carafe under the spout. Coffee flowed quite nicely all over the counter top and.... That was the beginning. "Things" went South after that point.

I have just concluded my evening study of the Word before hitting the sheets to end the day (Praise The Lord!). Reading through Proverbs 1, it hit me, that Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, was passing down a big secret to success:

"But all who listen to Me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm." Proverbs 1:13

It's snowing here tonight coupled with freezing rain. This means that the roads will be a disaster in the morning. Take a minute and picture your street filled with pot holes. Our roads throughout the city are littered with pot holes that will tear up your tires, damage your vehicle's suspension, and in some cases, are so deep that they will literally blow your tires causing numerous flats. Have you ever tried to change a flat tire in the rain/snow, with the roads covered with ice, and mud? Think what your clothing and hands will look like when you're done....not to mention replacing a very expensive tire. This is the absolute reality of life in our city during the winter and early spring months. It's all part of life. To sit back and contemplate the disaster that has just hit your vehicle, work schedule, and day to follow is not an option. The tire needs to be changed and the car must be moved off the street to allow traffic to pass, or our wonderful police will give you a $125. ticket. Fun.

This picture is reflective of our drive through life. The road of life is filled with pot holes, some of which are disastrous, but we can't sit in the car and wait for the tire to repair itself. What can we do?

Option #1: Get out of the car, mess up your clothing, get soaking wet, and show up at work a total and complete mess. This is assuming of course that you have a spare tire that can be used. If not...

Option #2: Like Solomon SEEK WISDOM from the Lord by STUDYING His Word and asking Him to prepare you for the pot holes in life.

If we are tuned into the Word and ask Him for wisdom, He promises us that we will live in peace and untroubled by fear of harm. I read this promise again tonight and my day melted away. A massive sense of Peace came upon me. I knew that He had once again assured me that everything in life is temporary and His Kingdom is just around the corner. Considering what is just up the road, who really cares what happened to the lousy tire anyway? After all, I'm untroubled by fear of harm because He provided me with emergency road service in my Policy of Eternal Life. All I need to do is call upon Him and the tire is changed, replaced with a brand new one, and I remain "clean"...if you know what I mean.

That's what the Lord hit me with and I'll pass it on for your thoughts and prayers. The pot holes are there and to deny their existence is a fallacy. Reality dictates that we undertake the necessary action to acquire the wisdom to address the flat tires when they hit. Wisdom, as Solomon will clearly tell you, ONLY comes from the Word and by waiting upon the Lord.

Don't fix the flats yourself...call for expert road service. The promise is in your eternal policy that you read every day.

A Quick Thought For Your Monday Morning Commute

"And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones- like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal." Revelation 4

I have actually seen Heaven three times over my 43+ years with the Lord. The city is beyond description because it's "crystal gold"...As noted previously in our Study Blog, in 2008, I saw the gemstone walls, the swirling gold/crystal streets, and heard the Lord's voice...NOTHING - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on this dying planet means ANYTHING to me.

John tried his very best to describe the Father sitting on His throne. His words could not begin to come close because of the immense beauty, power, glory, majesty, and holiness that appeared before him. Try if you can good friends to place yourself in John's position and then tell us what you saw.

The four "living beings" are singing their hearts out before the Father and when they do so, it is so "heavenly" in power and force that the 24 elders fall upon their faces to worship the Father. Can you imagine good friends how beautiful this worship will be when we are there? Try to imagine if you can...(tune out the traffic in your commute, the problems at the job, the obscenities, mockery, and derogatory slam that you will hear this week against you)...the unbelievable, indescribable, and absolute majesty that you will sing to Abba when He tells you how much He loves you!!! Abba loves you so much that His only Son came and paid the price for you to come before Him at His throne just as John did.

Can you imagine your presence before our Dad? Can you picture His hand upon your shoulder when you fall before His throne when you see Him and hear this heavenly worship? You will be there - promise - because "I Tell You The Truth, ANYONE who obeys My teaching will NEVER DIE!" John 9:51

You and I my friends WILL NEVER DIE! This world has absolutely NO hold upon us. We are soon to TRANSITION into the very Presence of the Father and His Kingdom. The Father and His Son NEVER lies. We absolutely, 100% know this to be true, therefore we are no longer held by this dying, stinking, decrepit world.

Look around while you're on your commute today. Does ANYTHING begin to compare to what you will soon see with your own two eyes? Can anything that you will hear this week compare to the heavenly worship that John has endeavored to describe? Will any false work related promises, shallow compliments, or condemnation begin to compare to the Father's own words of welcome, praise, and love that He will personally speak to you for all eternity?

Monday? What Monday? Mondays are soon to disappear and you have Abba loving you right now through His Son. Look up for our Promise draws near.
